7:30am: Why I hate Twilight
I had a really really rough day yesterday, so this is me venting.

I have had people ask why I hate Twilight so much. Other than the fact that Harry Potter should be coming out tonight instead of that book about a girl wanting to have sex with a dead guy (I don't support necrophilia), this is my reason.

Books like Twilight set up an unrealistic picture of love for young girls.

I don't know any girl that has read the book without uttering the words "I love Edward Cullen." Some girls just have a slight silly crush on a made up character, some girls actually start to believe that Edward Cullen is the representation of strong, heroic men. I am not exaggerating when I say that I know girls who are dear to me who get obsessed, and that kind of obsession leaves its footprints in your everyday relationships.

That is the same reason I do not support Redeeming Love. Books like these set up this picture for what a man should be, and it is impossible to live up to, and if a guy tries to live up to the example set by Micheal Hosea or Edward Cullen then the girl gets freaked out and feels negative emotions about how serious the relationship has gotten. But if the guy does not live up to those standards then he is a disappointment.

Books like Twilight are just trashy romance novels for girls that are too young to read actual romance novels. And Redeeming Love is the same thing except for hidden in the Christian bookstore.

A bunch of TV companies came together and made a website like youtube where they upload all their shows online legally and its free and way better quality than youtube... I found last nights Office, every episode of Arrested Development, 24, SNL, 30 Rock, Family Guy, I even found the A-team.

Plus there are a ton of movies on there for free. Its pretty awesome so check it out...

In the news today, Charlton Heston died... No word on whether his gun was pried out of his cold dead hands or not.

Also the Olympic torch had to be put out 4 times and taken on a bus because people protesting the violence in Tibet were physically attacking the carrier, trying to steal the torch, and spraying a fire extinguisher at it, which could have killed the woman carrying it.

How does physically attacking a 115 girl with a torch help anyone in Tibet? I like how everything protests for peace end up getting violent.

Prove to me you aren't protesting just to make yourself feel good, do something that actually helps the world, or at least keep it peaceful at your "peace" protest.

11:49pm: I know its silly, and I am not good enough to show off, but I uploaded some videos of me playing drums to prove to some of my friends that don't believe me that I actually can play drums. I can also post more videos of me playing different styles if anyone doesn't believe I can play like punk and hardcore or jazz or something.

12:07pm: I don't understand how everyone when Ape S when Jerry Falwell blamed 9-11 on the gays, but Jeremiah Wright said on the Sunday after 9-11 that White America was to blame for 9-11.

I don't understand how people have actually had the gall to tell me that "Mike Huckabee pretty much wants all gay people to die" yet they don't say anything about the anti white views Barak Obama talked about having when he was younger in his book.

I don't understand how people can get upset that Jerry Falwell can say that AIDs is God's punishment for homosexuality and everyone is outraged, yet Jeremiah Wright can say that White America invented AIDs to keep the black man down and to destroy poor countries.

I don't understand how Barak Obama can donate $20,000 to Rev. Jeremiah Wright and attend his church for 20 years, and have Jeremiah Wright on his campaign and have Jeremiah Wright marry him and baptize his children, and get the title of his book from Jeremiah Wright and say that Jeremiah Wright is his spiritual and moral leader, and it not be a big deal.

If John McCain was married by Jerry Falwell and supported Jerry Falwell and called Jerry Falwell "like an Uncle" do you think that it would be such a little story?

Because the Chronicle hasn't run the Jeremiah Wright story yet, CNN has practicly ignored it in their news cast. How come some people think its not a big deal but some people do?

Does it mean anything that polls show over 80% of journalists vote democrat?

And btw, I voted for Barak Obama, I am just wondering how he plans to "bring change" and bring " America together" if he is getting his spiritual and moral support from a blatant racist... Or does it not count as racism because its against white people?

5:57pm: Don't Rock the Vote
Here is a disclaimer. I am no Mike Huckabee apologist, right now I am backing Barak Obama and John McCain before Huckabee. But since he won the first primaries it has come to my attention that most people have no idea what they are talking about.

I am a poly sci major, and it has made me realize how much people talk out of their asses when it goes against what they want.

Madison helped form our government to restrain "Rule by Passions." Yet that is all I have heard in the last week. I have heard many people say Huckabee is a bigot, and a piece of shit, and so on yet only one person has been able to give me a reason why they believe that.

I find it interesting that the people who say these things have never seen an episode of Meet the Press or face the Nation or they have never heard an hour long interview with Mike Huckabee. They get their ideas from web sites and 30 second speeches on debates.

I have heard Huckabee accused of "Pretty much wanting all gay people to die" and being a "bigot" and being "that super Christian guy."

Just so all you guys know, I can give you a video clip of him saying that he doesn't believe that Gay people are any more sinful than the rest of us. He says we all sin and lie and cheat and the fact that people are gay doesn't make them any more sinful than the rest.

Furthermore, I have heard many people say he is "Too Christian" and they don't like him because of that... So are you telling me that you would be just as opposed to a proud Jew or Muslum running for office. If someone says that he is against gay marriage because that is what he believes, would you accuse him for being too Muslum?

You may not agree with everything he stands for but I will tell you this, unlike Hillary, Thomson, Romney, Gulianni, Edwards, and almost everyone else running for office, Huckabee's policy is based on what he actually believes. He doesn't change what he believes just to get voted into office. Every one of his policies has conviction and it is actually what he thinks is best for America. I dare you to find me a quote that says otherwise. And if you guys are really looking for politicians who are piece of shit how about you look at our entire congress that has way lower approval ratings than Bush. How about the 90 percent of presidential candidates who change what they believe based on bribes, special interests, and what other people want them to think. They are all whores, so please, do your homework and don't just believe what your friends tell you to think and don't believe what the 30 second clip on the Daily show or Fox make you believe. Otherwise don't vote. Please.

2:04am: Seriously, examine your life. Is this were you wanna be? Are you looking forward too much to enjoy what's right under your nose?

I have come to the conclusion that my band symbolized my childhood. And with the ending of the band, comes the end of my childhood. I am forced to grow up now.

This world is numb to me. I have chosen to live a life that is above things like messing around with girls and partying and being an A-hole to people, because I have investigated my life and have come to the conclusion that there is a better way to live life.

Yet I still feel numb. My head knows exactly how I am going to live my life, but my heart wonders. If I went away to school and hooked up with girls and partied and did whatever I want, could life be any more numb than it is now?

When I was in my band and I was playing shows and touring, I was out on the road with my best friends and I felt alive in a way I have never felt. When I was home I had friends that were exciting, and we went out and lived life and didn't worry. But I was kicked out of the band, and my friends have moved away or grown up and because of that I am forced to grow up and be boring.

Why is it that life seems to always be dictated on other people's terms? I live according to how a higher power wants me to act, My dreams and my childhood has been stripped from me because someone else says I can't be in a band anymore, I sit at home and watch TV because my friends have either moved away or are too grown up to go out and have an adventure.

I feel trapt. I have come to realize that we are all growing up way too fast. This is something everyone wrestles with I'm sure. I hope so at least. I read an interesting article about how we become obsessed with the things we love and we dissect that thing and look at it so closely from every different angle that we forget why we loved in the first place..
I feel like I've been examining my life and my faith so closely and dissecting it that I forgot why I love life. I've chopped life into so many little pieces trying to figure out why it works that it's become just a mess when I used to love life just because it "IS"

The closer you look at things the uglier they are.. I'm 21, honestly 21 and I'm planning for my kid's future already.. I am setting the stones down to one day have a family and then in turn have a kid and then in turn make sure he is happy... I have only lived 1/4 of my life and I'm already worried about what I'm gonna do with the rest of my 3/4 of life...

I used to feel like one of Peter Pan's Lost Boys.. I had the world at my finger tips and I just had to reach out a little tiny bit and grab it and do whatever I wanted with it. But now I feel boring. Honestly, normal people don't settle down till late 20's.. at least mid twenties.. I have 5-7 years left to squeeze everything out of life that I can, but instead I am going to spend that time stuck in school, building a foundation for 60 more years of life..

Should this really be the beginning of the end?

1:56am: Listen to this interview with 3 former Islamic Terrorists. Its super super interesting..
I heard this on a radio show I listen to every day, and it really really got me thinking. It is super interesting. It is an interview with 3 former Islamic Terrorists. They talk about how they grew up, their education, what made them become terrorists, how they stopped being terrorists, their opinion on the state of Fundamental Islam among other things. This is not the final say on Muslims I should know, most of my family is Muslim. They say some pretty radical stuff that isn't what a lot of people want you to hear, but I learned some really really interesting stuff.

For example one of them was recruited through a Koran study and shipped to Israel. Another was recruited at the age of 7 and fighting that young. One of them grew up in Israel but went to an Islamic school and from Kindergarten to High school all of their teaching was anti-semitic. None of them believed the Holocaust happened until they became Christians. One of them killed people, the others set off bombs. Its really interesting, so please give it a listen. 3:06am: Where our priorties lay...
Three white male Duke Lacrosse players were charged with gang raping two black strippers at a party, the case has been in trial and District Attorney Mike Nifong has been leading the charge, getting these lacrosse players in jail... Mike Nifong has been on the news and seen by thousands of people saying that white on black violence goes unpunished. White America gets away with crimes against the African American minority and no one ever does anything about it. As a result Racial tensions have been high, the three lacrosse players have been getting death threats from black students, telling them that they will be shot to death if they don't get thrown in jail, or that they won't even get to hear the verdict before they are beaten to death outside the courthouse. The lacrosse season was canceled and the rest of the 42 man team and the whole school gets screwed. These three men's lives are ruined, even if they are proven innocent.. which is exactly what happened.

District Attorney Mike Nifong ordered DNA from all the defendants to be matched with DNA found under the alleged rape victims fingernails, and it turns out the DNA did not match, none of the men raped anybody.

But District Attorney Mike Nifong decided he has already started a huge racial battle, and he can't be seen as the loser, on top of that, this is re-election year for him, he wants to be re-elected and there is no better way to do that than put away three rapists and win a huge civil rights battle for the oppressed black people of his district. So he hides the evidence. He never lets anyone see it and he pushes on with the case for weeks, spiting racially charged lies while he knows all along that these men are innocent.

Finally the truth came out and the charges were dropped, and today the three men will be released from jail...

My point being, District Attorney Mike Nifong, used race maliciously to further his career and put three innocent people behind bars. He purposefully used the black community and stirred up feelings of hate a pain in the black community for his own selfish needs. He genuinely hurt people with his words and actions..

... but for some reason all we see on the news is Don Imus. Who said a stupid hurtful joke that he did not mean, (he called the Rutkers Womens Basketball Team a bunch of Nappy Headed Ho's) and he immediately apologized for it. But for some reason we don't just take his apology and move on. People like Al Sharpton say that they don't believe his apology, yet they believe he is a racist based on ONE JOKE. Don Imus has said he thinks it was a disgusting horrible thing to do and he should have never said it. He regrets it and apologized to the girls faces. Yet everyone is screaming RACIST!!! It is on the front page of every news source. Is there no system for politicians, comedians, actors, anyone to just apologize after saying one stupid thing and we all get over it? It would be different if he had a history of saying racist things, but he doesn't. He was just an old man, saying a stupid thing. So please everyone, get over it. There are much worse people like Mike Nifong who use words to hurt people for profit. Lets get his job instead. Lets throw him in jail and call him a racist. Forget about Don Imus, its making me sick.

9:15pm: Today it hit me how betrayed I feel.

This has nothing to do with Democrats, this has nothing to do with Republicans. This definitely has nothing to do with "screw the government, F the man." kind of thinking.. I hate that so much.

All this has to do with is being informed. Being informed on what the people who are hired to serve us is doing with our money.

I heard a saying today, If you like laws and sausage then don't learn how they are made.


Recently President Bush asked Congress for more funding for Iraq. Congress recently wrote a bill to fund the war in Iraq, but they put strings on it. Including a pull out date for the war. I am not saying any of this is necessarily wrong, but what I am saying is wrong is the billions of dollars congress slipped into the bill for things other than the war. I am not exactly sure of the numbers so don't sue me, but 24 billion dollars of the bill went to ear marks, or pork as some call it.

What pork is, is extra money slipped into a bill late into the hour to pay off campaign contributors, and to bribe politicians, or just to pay off friends. This pork is added in the last minute usually after the bill is voted on and passed, with hopes that no one will catch the 34 million dollars that goes to your buddy's peanut ranch in Idaho.

We never vote for this spending, the president never signs that spending into law, but it gets treated as law.

To make it simple, Bush asks congress for 100 billion for Iraq, and congress says "okay, you can have your money.. But we are going to add on 50 million dollars to pay for peanut storage in Georgia. Or we are going to add a few million to buy us some more office space because our offices aren't big enough in the capitol.

For example the congressman of Alaska wants to be re-elected and not loose his job, so he adds 150 million dollars to the bill for Iraq to build a railroad track to shuttle sheep back and forth to a part of Alaska that has 2000 people in the town. These people were doing fine shuttling sheep on a boat back and forth, but now they have a train, which is new and faster, so he secures those 2000 people's votes.

The worst part of this pork is used to bully republican congressmen and conservative democrat congressmen into voting for the bill.

For example a republican Congressman has been asking for aid to help the citrus farmers in his state after the unusual cold killed their crops and the farmers are suffering. But Congress has ignored his pleas.
When this bill for Iraq (with the timetable to pull the troops out of Iraq) comes out on the floor for a vote, this congressman doesn't agree with the timetable set with this bill, and he absolutely does not want to vote for it.. But in the bill Nancy Piloski has added 100 million dollars to help the Citrus farmers in his state.

Now this congressman is faced with the crisis of "Do I vote for the bill and put a bill into law that do I not agree with, or do I vote against the bill and in doing so vote against aid for the farmers in my state that are suffering?"

And if he votes against the bill he may be voted out of office because the citrus union will say he didn't help when congress wanted to give them 100 million dollars. But if he votes for it, he will be putting a bill he doesn't believe in into practice.

This bill includes $74 million for peanut storage, $25 million for spinach growers and $100 million for citrus growers.
It also includes $16 million to convert the old Food and Drug Administration building in southwest D.C. into more office space for the Capitol. That comes at a time when taxpayers already shell out $600 million "more than double the original estimate" for a mammoth expansion of the Capitol, which includes 160,000 feet of new office space.


And if you think that this is the liberal democratic congress going behind our back and spending our money on things that we don't approve of then you are wrong. When the republicans controlled the congress last year the same exact thing happened. The republican party is supposed to be the party of fiscal responsibility, but they spent more money on pork than the democrats ever have..

There isn't much we can do about this, but be informed. We need to be smart and know what we believe in when we go into the polls in the future. It sounds cheesy, but you need to realize the constitution was written by men who considered the government our enemy. The constitution was written as a way to limit the power of the government. But now the government has gone unchecked completely.

I was all ready to buy a new westie puppy but the store told me I don't have good enough credit to finance it. So I am looking for reliable places to find cute small puppies. If anyone knows of like a mom and pa petstore or a place where I can find people selling their puppies for as cheap as possible let me know. I'm looking for small dogs that will stay small.
